MC Einar had his big breakthrough as the frontman of the group of the same name in 1988, when they released their debut album "Den Nye Stil".
It was the first Danish rap album and featured hits like “One of those days”, the title number and “Provoking, masturbating".
At Christmas that same year, they released the Christmas song “Christmas, that's cool”, which has become a classic among Danish Christmas songs. According to the songwriters' organization Koda, the song was the most played Christmas song on the radio in the period 2008-2012.
In 1989, the album “Ahr There”, from which the title track became a hit, but already in 1990 the group disbanded.
Einar Enemark tried on his own, but since he was not a great lyricist, nothing happened. Enemark also got into substance abuse problems, which left him depressed for years.
However, Einar Enemark returned to the music scene in the early 00s and performed, among other things, with various versions of the restored MC Einar.
In 2011, he published the autobiography "The Man Who Was MC Einar", written in collaboration with music journalist Anders Houmøller Thomsen.
In the 10s, Einar Enemark has performed with the jazz-inspired band KunTakt, with whom he has also released two albums, most recently “Åben dine læber” from this year.
An album that GAFFA's reviewer Ivan Rod awarded five stars and, among other things, the following words:
“With their latest album, "Åben dine læber", MC Einar & KunTakt have made some of the best I've heard since Halfdan E and Dan Turèll released their epoch-making album Pas På Pengene in 1993.".
The elegantly mature rapper Einar Enemark, and the unpretentious trio KunTakt (Anders Bast, Jens Kristian Andersen and Thomas Præstegård) have – based on lyrics by the two now deceased authors, Rune T. Kidde and Mark Hebsgaard – created a terrific rap-jazz-spoken-poetry album, which in almost every sense is like an extension of Halfdan E's and Dan Turèll's now 23-year-old gem.
In 2018, when the first Danish rap album "Den Nye Stil" celebrated its 30th anniversary and when the subsequent album with the national plague in 1989 "Ahr There” was released, – Einar is so ready, together with the old musicians DJ Jan and Jesper Vildmand, to tour in 2019 with lots of hits and the atmosphere from that time.
