Torben Chris can deliver incredible cascades of words in a short time and is known for possessing a tremendous energy that reaches far beyond the stage edge. His comedy is always at full speed and is often bound together by a common thread, whether he is ranting about the differences between men and women or casting a satirical glance at Danish politics.
In 2003, Torben Chris qualified for the semi-finals of the national stand-up championship with his 12th show ever. The following year, he finished in fourth place, and while Torben Chris was completing his teacher training at Jelling Seminarium, he continued to perform stand-up.
In 2005 he gave two shows at the annual Jelling Music Festival after winning a talent competition on Vejle Lokal Radio.
In 2006, Torben Chris became number 3 at the Danish Stand-up Championship and has since performed several times at Comedy Zoo, Kulcaféen and various clubs around the country.
In 2006 he made a mini-tour with Linda P and Karsten Green under the ironic title Us from TV. In addition, he participated in the Telia Comedy Tour in January 2007 and TV2 Zulus Comedy Fight Club in the autumn of 2007.
He participated in Comedy Aid in 2011 and 2012. Together with Thomas Hartmann, he produced the show Men’s Room in 2011. The following year Hartmann and Chris followed up the show with Men’s Room 2.
In 2015 he appeared in TV3’s reality show “I'm a celebrity – get me out of here!“
Torben Chris has made a big impact on the Danish stand-up scene since he made his debut in 2005.
Torben always drives in 5th gear and loves to perform. He has an opinion on almost everything, which can be seen, among other things, in the DR program series ”Torben Chris Rids Up”.
