Birthe Kjær has for decades been a radiant source of joy through her singing.
Her musical journey began back in the 1960s as part of the Sunshine trio, where she toured around Jutland together with two boys.
In 1968 she made her breakthrough with her first single “Arrivederci Franz”which immediately took first place on the newly established “Dansktoppen.”
This marked the beginning of her professional musical career, where she left her job as a bank clerk.
Over the years, a number of Danish hits have emerged, including songs like “Summer and sun” “Tennessee Waltz” and “The flaming red rubber boat”which is still loved today.”.
Throughout the 80s and 90s, Birthe continued to deliver hits like ’From my arm” “All the joys of the world” “The first day of the rest of my life” “Montmartre” and “Like a bird in the open air”The latter even secured her a Grammy.
In the 1980s, Birthe Kjær became a regular on the Danish Melodigrandprix and secured several top positions, including a victory in 1989 with the song ’We paint the city red.”
At the International Melodigrandprix she achieved a fine 3rd place.
She also changed roles as host of the Danish Melodigrandprix in 1990 and created successful entertainment programs such as “With Loving Regards” and “Wildly in Love.”

Birthe Kjær has many talents and has therefore had many opportunities in her career; she has, among other things, performed in theaters and in revues, as a showgirl and a jazz singer.
