Birthe Kjær has been a brilliant source of joy through her singing for decades.
Her musical journey began back in the 1960s as part of the Sunshine trio, where she toured around Jutland with two boys.
In 1968 she broke through with her first single “Goodbye Franz” which immediately took first place on the newly established “Dansktoppen.”
This marked the beginning of her professional music career, leaving her banking apprenticeship.
Over the years, a number of Danish top hits were released, including songs like “Summer and sun" "Tennessee Waltz” and “The bright red rubber boat” which is still loved today.
Throughout the 80s and 90s, Birthe continued to deliver hits such as “Off my arm" "All the joys of the world" "The first day of the rest of my life" "Montmartre” and “Like a bird in the wild” the latter even secured her a Grammy.
In the 1980s, Birthe Kjær became a regular feature in the Danish Eurovision Song Contest and secured several top positions, including a victory in 1989 with the song “We paint the town red.”
In the International Melodi Grand Prix she achieved a great 3rd place.
She also changed roles as host of the Danish Singing Contest in 1990 and created successful entertainment programs such as “With love” and “Wildly in love.”

Birthe Kjær has many talents and has therefore been given many chances in her career, she has, among other things, been in theaters and revues, as a singer and jazz singer.
