Poul Krebs is filling the air – and playing 70 concerts throughout Denmark.
It started as a wild idea – but in 2026 it will become a reality.
When Poul Krebs turns 70, he's not only marking it with a new album and a lifetime of back catalogue. He's also embarking on one of the most ambitious tours of his career: 70 concerts across all of Denmark.
The tour will be a journey through all the many forms of community that have followed Poul Krebs over the years. Spring is marked by the band with full energy on stage, summer brings the reunion with the festivals and the big community songs, autumn becomes more intimate, where Poul, together with his anchorman Troels Skjærbæk, goes around to the smallest corners of the country–and the year is rounded off with special gala concerts, where friends and musical guests gather to celebrate both birthdays and careers.
Throughout his career, Poul Krebs has always been able to deliver both subtle and quirky stories, from the journey through life, which in his case has not always gone the straight path. A journey that has made Poul Krebs one of the country's most popular artists.
Music as a gathering point, community is not just something that happens on stage. It is also the driving force behind Krebs' new album 'Fuldtidsforhæbninger', which was released in 2025. The album brings together a wide range of guests from several generations, including Hanne Boel, Lucky Lo, Tina Dickow, Helgï Jónsson, Jonas Dissing, Simone Tang, Palle Hjorth, Annika Aakjær, Martin Sommer, Jacob Dinesen and Kajsa Vala. Behind the scenes–and on stage–stands the strong team of musicians who have helped shape the album: Oliver Mønster, Troels Skjærbæk, Peter Dombernowsky and Knud Møller.
And when the tour rolls around, it will be with Peter Dombernowsky and Casper Simonsen on drums and percussion, Troels Skjærbæk on bass, Palle Hjorth on keyboards and Lars Skjærbæk and Andreas Käehne on guitars.
Together they form a band that Poul himself calls the strongest possible line-up–“the most characterful musicians, who have all left a deep mark on my songs".
The audience deserves the best". I owe it to my large audience to give them the best, and I owe it to everyone involved on my new album to play those songs as best as possible!
Autumn will be a journey into the corners of the smallest places on the map – right where music creates the strongest community. And I sincerely believe that I can say that I am looking forward to it all just as much. “Turning 70 and being described as better than ever is one thing. To do it by playing 70 concerts is another. And to do it at the same time as making a mark as one of the Danish scene's most unifying, relevant and persistent voices – that is something very special.
“It's a little sensation."says Poul Krebs."And it's a huge privilege that I still get to do what I dreamed of as a boy."
