He has also appeared in the TV programs Safari and Casper and the Mandrila Agreement. He has also been team captain in the entertainment programs Ugen Der Gak and 9 ud af 10, the latter together with team captain Søren Østergaard and host Casper Christensen. Lars Hjortshøj was one of the hosts of the morning radio program Morgenhyrderne on Radio 100FM from the program's start in November 2003 until the end of October 2006, when he left Radio 100FM in favor of a position as a morning radio host at TV 2 Radio. Due to a non-competition clause, Hjortshøj was away from radio until Alletiders Morgen went on the air on July 30, 2007 with co-hosts Gitte Madsen and Søren Rosenørn. On October 12 of the same year, TV 2 announced that Lars Hjortshøj would leave his position as morning radio host at the end of the year to travel to India for an indefinite period with his family.
From the fall of 2009, he was a regular member of the acting troupe on the live television sketch program Live from Bremen on TV 2. He left Live from Bremen in 2011.
Lars Hjortshøj has provided the Danish voice for a number of animation characters, including the crane truck Bumle in the animated film Cars.
