Hear the story of the work involved in making the highly topical documentary film Into The Ice that opened CPH:DOX 22. An expedition that, among other things, takes the director down into a 175-meter-deep hole in the middle of the ice. A place where no one has been before.
In this lecture, Lars Ostenfeld takes us across the ice and deep into the ice. The ice we all know, but know nothing about. First the film is shown and then the director will talk about the exciting and important pioneering work Lars has done when scientists measure snowfall, rain, temperature, meltwater and the movements of the ice.
Ostenfeld has traveled on an expedition to Greenland with his camera, along with 3 world-renowned researchers and his friend, to record the sound of ice. To experience the natural phenomenon firsthand and to learn more about the "gigantic enigma" that ice poses. - we know it's melting. But we don't know how fast.
